It is common that a band’s name doesn’t actually mean anything these days, yet Hypermodal’s name stems from the basis of their musical style and practice: keyed up and overstimulated electronic and organic instrument sounds organized in a decoupage of various moods and scales to express the heaviest to the lightest of human emotions. In sequence with the forward-thinking sounds, Hypermodal’s lyrics comment on their passion for political activism, civil rights, energy reform, and anti-corporate-capitalism using a sometimes avant-garde and defiant rock n’ roll inflection that gave the grunge movement it’s signature sound.
