Artist
Guy's irrepressible blues piano style has earned him several awards, including a Juno. He has played with Bo Diddley, Back Alley John, Drew Nelson, Dutch Mason and others, and many of his arrangements are used by other bands. As a sideman, Guy doesn't often get the spotlight -- he's jokingly referred to as "the most famous bluesman you've never heard of"! Guy DelVillano grew up in the mining town of Timmins Ontario where his father was a legendary mayor for several years. Wanting to become a journalist, Guy drifted to New Hampshire and Prince Edward Island, writing for local papers. He started playing guitar at the age of 17 but soon switched to piano as his main instrument and eventually dropped journalism to become a professional musician. Guy is passionate about his music. He can write a tune at the drop of a hat, and plays piano, guitar, accordion, pennywhistle, two rocks ... just about anything he can get his hands on. Three decades of playing the blues, from one end of Canada to the other, have infused his music and stage performance with power, grit and vitality. Originally from Timmins, Ontario, Guy now lives in Ottawa. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
