Gustav Kemps conjures a set of slowed-down, guitar-led refractions primed for the midnight hour. Winding, fleshed out and highly atmospheric, like outlines on ink-stained pages; startlingly ornate, self referential and fully illusive. Riffs are reduced into loose vapour trails, muddling harmonic snags with clipped piano notes and the occasional vocal waft. Never completely ambient, it's music that nonetheless has the ability to float and transport in an effortless way, even if the destination remains charmingly out of reach.
