Based out of central southern Ohio, USA, Guild Navigators is a rock band and musical vehicle for Chris Mead. The Guild have been around since the mid 90's. GN are predominently influenced by spacey psychedelic groups like Hawkwind and Farflung and 80's Hardcore punk and 70's and 80's classic rock hard rock and metal with elements synthesized from multifarious styles as well including: surf instrumental, new wave, industrial, and even at times in some songs a touch of appalachian, southwestern, middle eastern traditional and early european traditional. Story ballads come into play in the lyrical approach and the traditional music styles are evident in touches within in the chordal structure of the guitar work. Guild Navigators take influences from all over and meld it into fresher brand of "Space Rock" which makes the music more progressive and experimental than straight up punk rock.
