Giant Octopus is the name of three different artists. -Giant Octopus (the band) is a four piece rock group from Petaluma, California. -Giant Octopus (DJ) is the hip-hop electronic project of Ryan Tamborski, who is also the vocalist for the band with the same name. Sometime this project is referred to as DJ Giant Octopus. -Giant Octopus (singer/songwriter) is a psychedelic songsmith from the East Coast. ------ Giant Octopus (band) is the pseudo-super group consisting of the not-very-popular comical acts Vern Fonk and the Funky Four or Five Minus One or Two, Nick Wan Nation, and SxMxIxLxE. Giant Octopus derives their sound from the genres of flamenco, metal, jazz, pop punk, and hardcore. They are mostly known for their song "Spanish Metal part I". The current line up is: Ryan Tamborski - Vocals Remy Chan - Guitar/Vocals Erik Schau - Bass/Vocals Nick Wan - Drums/Vocals Giant Octopus' creation involves the failures and short comings of many other bands before this one. Singer Ryan Tamborski and bassist Erik Schau were both in the band Vern Fonk and the Funky Four or Five Minus One or Two. Remy Chan and Nick Wan both played in the studio project SxMxIxLxE, as well as Nick Wan Nation. Tamborski met Wan and Chan through mutual friends and the first day they improv'd the song titled "Tambo, Lexie, Tambo, Goblet, Captain Gas, Dungenous Crabs, You Suck". Since then, various band names were chosen but over time they decided overall on the name "Giant Octopus", based off a comment
