Straight out of the southern suburbs of Cape Town come Fox Comet, a melodic funk-rock band with a new-wave urban edge that will rock your fox-socks off. Fox Comet was born in February 2009 out of the creative talents of Stephane Corneloup, Nick Catto and his brother Matt Catto. Their immediate musical connection and synergy prompted the search for an energetic and vibey vocalist, one who could express the developing sound with character. A chance meeting between Rob and bassist Nick brought up the subject of Rob's intense desire to sing for an SA band, his passion being SA music. Rob's introduction was a smashing success and rehearsing began immediately. Their signature sound quickly developed, with Stephane bringing a touch of funky Francais to the table from years playing lead guitar with the French rock outfit, Simili Skaï Club. Fox Comet's gain, France's loss! After drummer Matt Catto left the group to join up with Cape Town band Kombat Fudge, Fox Comet skipped a beat for not more than a day when the talented drummer and madman Kyle Gray stepped into the hotseat. Kyle’s stylish cymbal-work and natural ability to rock out made him a perfect candidate for a permanent fixture in the band, which he accepted. Fox Comet have a wide range of influences from The Cat Empire, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Incubus to more locally grown music like Desmond and the Tutu’s and The Rudimentals. This stimulates the diversity of the band's sound and keeps things interesting. Make no mis
