Three-man collaborative effort from Chicago, Illinois. Formed in 2008 and basing their initial efforts with a heavy influence from '70 German krautrock, Fotosputnik pushed out their debut, self-recorded LP "Translucent Marmoset" on The Static Cult Label in July 2009. Their free downloadable Cave Din series, available on the band's official website, features unreleased, live and extended cuts of some of their more non-traditional recordings. The band continues to regularly release Cave Din EPs. Their second full-length LP, "Idiolects," is due out on The Static Cult Label in 2011.
