Forest Henderson were a pop/rock quartet that existed in various forms from 2000 to 2010. The band started when the members were in middle school as a Stone Temple Pilot covers band, when singer/guitarist William "Billy" Hubbard first joined up with childhood friends Matt Ott (lead guitar) and Chris Reckert (then on drums, soon to be on bass.) Honing their chops on the 90s radio rock of the day, the band slowly moved into more original material as Hubbard began to take on songwriting duties. The band played together for years in this configuration, gigging out at bars in the Southern MA/Northern RI area despite their young age. Completing their hometown feel was the band's name, a tribute to a high school science teacher they all took classes with. After a series of rhythm section lineup shuffles, the group finally settled in with the mysterious figure of Skye Mazuroski on the drums, and relocated to the Boston area to make a go of things. The band released the "You're Out Of The Band!" EP in 2008, a diverse and catchy collection of poppy rock music that mated Hubbard's hook-laden songwriting with the mature power of the group's formidable instrumental section. With this in tow and some extensive gigging under their belts, the band was able to build up something of a cult following in the Boston area. Despite hooky songwriting and an energetic live show however, the band was unable to capture the large-scale attention of the apathetic indie rock crowd of the mid to late 2000s
