Ford's Imaginary Inferno was a Dutch lo-fi/indie band, active between 1994 and 2004(ish), heavily influenced by sixties psychedelia. The group's roots are in the southern Dutch province of Noord-Brabant, but they were mostly based in Amsterdam. The band's founder, frontman and main songwriter was Hans F. Ford (pseudonym of Hans Von Seydlitz), who was formerly in bands such as Betty Ford Clinic. The band's first albums, Hot Balloon Drifts (1995) and Life Without Ourselves (1997), are now hard to find. Easier to come by are Love And Be Loved (1999) and The Imaginary Recordings Part 4 Or How The Flower Factory Unexpectedly Exploded (2000), released by Amsterdam's My First Sonny Weissmuller Recordings. The band's 5th and 6th albums, Summer Breeze And Magic Trees (2003) and Meet The Children Of Make-Believe (2004), were vinyl-only releases on the Excalibur Music Group label. Ford's Imaginary Inferno kind of dissolved after 2004. Hans F. Ford returned in 2021 with Ford's Fuzz Inferno.
