about

Coming from a small town in the middle of the Lake District, surrounded by mountains and numerous amounts of sheep, you wouldn’t expect to find that music was one of the most popular forms of getting-away-from-the-world. But from an early age, Fiona has written and played music for audiences ranging from just her parents - to a crowd of over 1000 people. With her mum being a music teacher and her dad playing tapes and records of typical 80’s rock and roll it was hard to get away from it. “The one thing I love the most about playing music, is that I can put myself into it, and playing my music to a crowd of people is one of the few places I can feel really comfortable.” “Some of my main influences are my mum, obviously, and all the community musicians I have worked with in the last few years. They really are a great inspiration because they focus on what younger musicians have to offer, and for me it’s a real confidence boost. Having the confidence of knowing that what you’re doing is appreciated really reflects into the music.” User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
