Filtro Medusa is a female fronted progressive metal band from Panamá. The band has its beginnings in 2001, when the guitar players Gerardo Pesantez and Juan Arciria had an idea to create a musical symbiosis of hard rock and alternative rock. They invited the drummer Wilson Rodriguez, who was later replaced by Franz Morales and later David Quintero. Aleko Cadavid was invited to play bass. Bethy Garcia is the band's vocalist since 2003. In 2005, 2006 and 2007 Filtro Medusa won the Best Alternative Band award of PanamaRock. In 2006 and 2007 they represented Panamá on international rock festivals in Colombia, Chile and Dominican Republic. In 2006, the debut album "Filtro Medusa" and single "Ángel Eterno" were released. In 2020, after more than a decade of inactivity, Filtro Medusa returned to the scene with a new guitar player Juancho Rodriguez, who replaced Juan Arciria, and a new drummer Eric González. In 2020 they released a new single "Cenizas", followed by another single "Tiembla la Ciudad" in 2021. The band is regularly participating in local rock festivals, including Festival MUPA and Pit Fest. instagram.com/filtromedusaband linktr.ee/FiltroMedusa User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
