It is impossible to describe Fairguson’s music in just one word. One could say it is a modern-day blend between Neil young, Grandaddy and Wilco. In truth, Fairguson has well assimilated the sound of the forebears of American folk scene, but would be more inspired in reality by America during the 1930’s: lost and wild, with the rough but sweet way of life that we find in Steinbeck or from the 70’s Joni Mitchell, John Denver or Glenn Campbell. Fairguson write songs the way one would go for a journey in search of answer to urban suffocation. It talks about everything and nothing; about stories that are timeless - it talks simply about life. One could be basking in sunshine, whether in 1969 or 2009; in Monterey, Hawaii or Paris. It does not matter. One thing is for certain: the smell of summer, of season, of time. Yes, the six musicians from Fairguson take their time in producing long unformatted tracks. The simple things told in their songs invite one with mother nature, with her wide open spaces captured gently through folk pianos, woody guitars and synthesizer solos reminding one of early Yes or Genesis. In 2005, Fairguson’s first homemade album came to be, which was only distributed in France. Four years later, from their own studio in Paris, Fairguson is proud to announce the release of their brand new album Tales From The 47 Willows, out November 3.
