FAIRCHILD REPUBLIC are a rock band with grand ambitions. Think Killers, U2 and R.E.M and you are on the right track. Disinterested in what is cool right now, they are writing emotional songs with a goal to move people. FAIRCHILD REPUBLIC met at a Gold Coast high school and have a front man that is intoxicating in a Michael Hutchence kind of a way. Self releasing their debut EP “Ships are for Sailing" in April 2010, FAIRCHILD REPUBLIC have taken a different approach this time around, choosing to record new material in their home studio. The opportunity to self-produce and experiment with their sound appealed and the new songs are reaping the rewards. FAIRCHILD REPUBLIC recently won Gold Coast Uncovered with their prize sending them to Japan to play a few shows and spread the gospel according to FCR. 2012 is a year of consequence for FAIRCHILD REPUBLIC kicking off with a performance at their hometown Big Day Out. It will also see them setting up the release of their debut album due mid year. FAIRCHILD REPBULIC are the kind of band that have put massive expectations on themselves and look destined to defy them.
