Fókatelep was formed in 2007, in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, comprising various members of Korai Öröm and Colorstar. Their very own sound emerged following an initial phase of instrumental and improvisational exercises after they met vocalist Annamária Oláh. Their style is a mix of psychedelic rock, folk, chanson, tango, progressive rock – this fusion proved to be new and unique on the Hungarian world music scene. It is easy to become part with this fresh and entertaining world, which does not lack unsettling and dramatic moments that make it even more notable. A testimony to this are the two albums of the band Fókatelep (2009) and Fokadelic (2011), and the fact that the band has been invited to renowned festivals all around Europe.
