Artist
Ex-Action Figures began as a trio from Madison, Wisconsin in 1993. Paul Grimstad (guitar/vocals), Chris Ross (bass), Brian Voss (drums). The band recorded two 7" singles in 1995 -- "Autobeauty" and "The Great Divide". After those two singles, the band was signed to Mafia Money Records and released its debut CD, Ex-Action Figures, in 1996. Shortly after the CD's release, Grimstad moved to New York while the rest of the band remained in Wisconsin. Grimstad recorded one additional album using the Ex-Action Figures name. The 1998 album was called, A Lion and Virgin in a Diamond Rocket, and was released on Mafia Money Records. Grimstad attempted touring with a "New York version" of the band, but was largely unsuccessful. The final release of Ex-Action Figures was a split 7" with The Faint released on Saddle Creek Records. The Ex-Action Figures song was called "The Trillionaires". The band ended in 1999. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
