The Story of "Two Sheds Jackson", Germany's Oldest Newcomer Band In the year 1987: Tom crossed the border into East Berlin one day to take a look at the local music scene. Guitar case in hand, he quickly came to the realization that it was harder to find than he expected. He sat down on on the grass on the bank of the river Spree and played the chords to "If_I_Ever_Lose_This_Love" – as with many other songwriters, for him songs of love and longing emotionally the strongest. As chance would have it, Helfried - who happened to be a pianist and sound engineering student – passed by and happened to catch Tom's chords. On hearing hearing his voice, he turned chalk white. "The song is not bad but you should find yourself a singer" he suggested – thus signaling the beginning of a long and fruitful musical partnership. Ten years later…. 1997: Around the time of the demise of the Iron Curtain, there were bands made up of musicians from both East and West Germany. Andre, a drummer with a punk band from Magdeburg, (and thus an "Ossi" like Helfried), who had escaped from the DDR via Hungary, becomes the rhythmic anchor of the newly formed band "Two Sheds". Tom´s longtime partner in the studio Wolle (Heidelberg) becomes the band's bassist. Quickly,a great number of songs with refined melodies and complex arrangements begin to pile up. 2007: The band has written over 100 songs and decides at last to release them on the CD "Memory_Lane" under the name "Two Sheds Jackson" featuring the
