At the age of 15 I was reading an Article in “Scratch” magazine. In this article Kyambo “Hop-Hop” Joshua said when listing to demos I love mood music. The kind of music that causes you to get out of your seat and walk towards the speakers. That’s what I want to achieve every time my music is heard.” Euro P. Gold is a ball of confusion trapped in a world of music that focuses on selling out. Euro P. Gold is himself and no one else. I make music that reflects every instance of my existence. Seriously, I’m talking from my birth to the boogie I pulled out of my nose 10 minutes ago. The name Euro P. Gold Comes from three places. Euro is a nickname given to me by one of my closest friends growing up. P stands for Heuy P. Newton and his non-conformist, revolutionary state of mind, and Gold comes from an adoration of the character Jeremy Piven plays in HBO’s Entourage Ari Gold. From that I created Euro P. Gold- The Author of Flow I’m from Pa, right outside of Philly, so I’m addicted to that soul sound. I grew up on Gamble And Huff and Luther Vandross. In fact my mother ain't even let me listen to Rap growing up. I used to sneak tapes in my room and groove to them. I remember getting a beating in second grade for listing to In My Lifetime by Jay-Z” All of these incident and artists I grew up on get diffused throughout my music.
