ellen jorunn was born in 1985, and grew up in a small town in the North of Norway. She was involved with music from an early age, singing in choir and listening to her father playing the piano. At the age of 7 she started to play the piano, and when she was 13 she also picked up the guitar. After learning a couple of chords, she wrote her first song. ellen jorunn sang in several choirs and even conducted a youth gospel choir at the age of 16. In high school she had music as a major, and graduated with top grades in jazz song. She continued writing her own songs and among other concerts she performed twice at the Norwegian music festival; Skjaergaards Musikk. However, she heard the city calling, and came to Oslo in 2004 where she gained more experience in jazz and rhythmical song technique. She continued writing songs and playing her guitar, and recorded her debut EP at babysteps productions in Oslo. ellen jorunn has played at various venues around Oslo. Her unique voice, charm and beautiful songs have impressed quite a few people in the Norwegian capital and we now look to introduce her to the rest of the world!
