Charlie Riverleaf (Carlos Rioja) lives near a river and writes simple and imperfect songs. He was just a kid when, along with his brother and cousins, made some funny and toxic tapes featuring late eighties covers plus some simple themes, including the acclaimed tape "Dark Days" (1991), full of casiotone and basement attitude. In the late nineties he co-founded Age of Desfase, a virtual trash-punk band. Because of its autodestructive spirit, it didn't last, and Charlie focused on simple guitar songs. Its first release was under the name The Charlie Experience: Among cities (2001), a demo tape. He calls it "room pop" because it is recorded in his room and he doesn't think that it could sound anywhere else. He has made new songs in this fashion since. In 2007 Charlie released Punk!, a hommage to the punk under The Suicide Dogs name. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
