EAT YOU ALIVE was a visual kei band with a metal sound that originated from Nagoya, Japan. The band was initially formed under the name MaveRick in March 2006 and disbanded on December 30, 2013. The band consisted of vocalist ヒロ (Hiro), guitarists 翔也 (Shoya) and 亮平 (Ryohei), bassist けんぢ (Kenji), and drummer 真 (Makoto). MaveRick embarked on their music journey in March 2006 with members hailing from various disbanded bands such as Grind (グラインド), HATED, and KeiL. They debuted with their first live performance at Nagoya ell.FITS ALL on March 7, 2006, expanding their activities to different regions of Japan. The band released their first single "The light of Destruction and The darkness is Behind" on April 22, 2006, gaining recognition through the inclusion of their songs on omnibuses. In November 2006, they released their first full album, "[a counter feit heart and my true intentions MOSQUITO]." Subsequent releases included the maxi-single "SILENCE DEATH" on July 18, 2007, and the single "あの青は限り無く" (Ano Ao wa Kagirinaku) on September 29, 2007. On June 8, 2008, MaveRick announced their disbandment but reformed as EAT YOU ALIVE. Kurei adopted the stage name Hiro, and Mukuro became Ryohei. Under their new name, the band released their first single, "JENNIFER / 花水木" (Hanamizuki), on June 18, 2008.
