Dream Mechanics isn’t exactly a band. It’s a project, it’s music and it’s poetry. The idea for the project was fostered by the Moscow radio DJ Ilya Richter (vocals, electronics). To help him gather scattered pieces of words and sounds and turn it into this music, he invited three of the most progressive musicians from the Russian electronic and indie-scene to join the project: Viсtor Shapovalov (bass), Nick Zavriev (keys) and Sergey Ledovski (drums). Together they create a magical and secretive sound of what they have named post-psychedelic mashup built with elements of trip-hop, ambient, trance and post-rock. Such stereotype-braking approach combined with groovy sound and expression was the reason why music press named the project "russian Massive Attack". According to listeners, the music brings one a sudden change in the state of mind without using any drugs. In the course of its first six months of existance Dream Mechanics has performed at various festivals and prestigious clubs in Moscow, and has been featured in Afisha, the number one entertainment magazine in Russia, as one of the 14 most interesting Russian groups. Dream Mechanics is currently putting the finishing touches to the debut album ‘Screensaver’.
