Somnambul is a german Trip Hop Project, founded in October 1998 by Ulrike Mücke and Kai Mekelburg. Their musical main influences are not a secret, since they initially came together by their common love for Portishead and bands like Goldfrapp and Massive Attack. Not that they are tryong to copy anyone, their style is stilll unique and fresh with unprecitable arrangements. They just manage to create melancholy but sometimes yet dancable melodies. the melodious voicelines of the vocalist and lyricist Ulrike Mücke are timed exactly and still seem to be born out of the creative moment of each beats and sounds. The root of one song is usually a sound fragment, a bassline or a beat on whichs waves the song slowly builds up. Right now they are still searching for a proper label, to myke their music accesible to everyone.
