DREAM Four musicians from up North have come together in Los Angeles to form a band and share a dream. Canadians Doug Heffernan and Dan Nelles joined Oregonians Steve Giles and Paul Calder in the summer of 2003, and soon they had started writing and recording their own brand of powerful, hook-driven, modern rock music. By the early summer of 2004 their self-produced debut record Closest Line Theory was complete and ready for release. The dream had begun. LIFE Before the pieces were all in place, various members had crossed paths and worked together on previous projects. Doug (vocals and guitars) and Steve (bass and backing vocals) had been writing together for a while and had landed a record deal with major distribution in the late 90’s. When the label mishandled it’s financial backing and collapsed just two weeks after the bands record was released, everything fell apart. But the two held strong, worked up some new material and started all over again. When the time came to put together a new band, they realized they needed a 2nd guitarist to fill out their sound. Both had worked with Paul before and knew that he would be a perfect fit. In addition to locking in musically, Paul’s role as producer and engineer were also extremely key when the time came to record the bands debut record.
