Originally from Belarus, Slava a.k.a. DJ Candy Kid, has been tearing up the East Coast with his unique style and adrenaline packed sets of HappyCore, Gabber, DnB, and Acid & Euro-Trance since 2001. Slava got into electronic music back in '93 listening to Marusha, Blumchen, Scooter, WestBam, DJ Hooligan, Das Modul, Dune, Charlie Noise & Mental Theo, Red 5 and Brooklyn Bounce. When Slava's uncle introduced him to dejaying, he saw how fun it was and what an amazing positive effect it could have on a crowd. Dreaming of becoming a dejay, he was finally able to buy equipment and records after coming to New York City. Some people wonder why Slava picked the dejay name Candy Kid - so, here is the reason why... When he was growing up in Belarus, Slava ate so much candy he earned the nick-name sweet-tooth. He chose the name candy kid from this, before he came to America. He had never heard of kandi/kandi-kids (etc). A lot of people think he chose the name DJ Candy Kid because he is a candy kid, but that part actually came later ;) ... <3 Starting with Trance, Slava began spinning UK Hardcore soon after. His love of music fueled his desire to play out at parties. Now, DJ Candy Kid rawks dancefloors from Pennsylvania to Canada, bringing his infectious love and energy to ravers everywhere.
