Originally from Belarus, Slava a.k.a. DJ Candy Kid, has been tearing up the East Coast with his unique style and adrenaline packed sets of HappyCore, Gabber, DnB, and Acid & Euro-Trance since 2001. Slava got into electronic music back in '93 listening to Marusha, Blumchen, Scooter, WestBam, DJ Hooligan, Das Modul, Dune, Charlie Noise & Mental Theo, Red 5 and Brooklyn Bounce. When Slava's uncle introduced him to dejaying, he saw how fun it was and what an amazing positive effect it could have on a crowd. Dreaming of becoming a dejay, he was finally able to buy equipment and records after coming to New York City. His name comes from when he was growing up in Belarus, Slava. He ate so much candy he earned the nick-name sweet-tooth. He chose the name candy kid from this, before he came to America. Starting with Trance, Slava began spinning UK Hardcore soon after. His love of music fueled his desire to play out at parties. Now, DJ Candy Kid plays from Pennsylvania to Canada, bringing his love and energy to ravers everywhere. Slava was selected to play at both WEMF 2003 and 2004. DJ Candy Kid's performances have inspired party kids who weren't previously into HHC to fall in love with it, taking them on a magical journey through his sound.
