Diehatzu Hijets are an alternative/grunge rock trio from Edmonton, AB. Started by Layne L'Heureux in 2009, Layne was heavily influenced by 80's and 90's alt rock acts such as Dinosaur Jr, Husker Du, and Sonic Youth. L'Heureux is the primary songwriter, but since forming, Drew Lamb and Adam Prins have been collaborting with L'Heureux and riffing local audiences into space. L'Heureux recruited local bassist Drew Lamb in summer 2010 after showing Drew some of his hairy, garage-y, but solid guitar compositions. Layne then met local drummer Adam Prins, who was looking for a band to jam with. The three finally met up and drove 45 minutes out of Edmonton to Gibbons, AB, to have what would be their first practice, in a barn. They continue to use this barn to practice without noise restrictions to this day. They released their first EP, Doo Doo Boy, through Old Ugly Records in Edmonton and are currently getting some more tracks professionally recorded and mixed. The band aims these new tracks will give the listener more of an impression of their live sound..loud, energetic, honest and most of all, fun.
