Diath is a two-man project creating, often caustic, atmospheres. The main players are Daniel Barrett (Cynicism8, Melathyaad) and David Simmons (deadkidsongs, Tankiz). Their music has included everything from lengthy dark ambient/drone movements to blasts of electronic noize to fragile post-rock melodies. Diath create moods. Live, their sounds have always caused a reaction. At each of their rare live dates so far the crowd reaction has been either of disgust, disbelief and confusion or of bizarre calm and an immediate affinity with the often intense experience. They have also made use of guest players incl. Joe Davin (The Otters, Helldrake), dAN (bricksKILL, Stars in the Bathtub, Tentacle Pantiechrist 666, Tentacle23), Adam Lees, Chris Reeder (Scar My Eyes, Snakebite, Defcon1) and Laura Vickers.
