The Devich Trio is a young international ensemble consisting of the Hungarian pianist Hanna Devich, the South African violinist Sarah Oates en the Dutch cellist Jasper Havelaar. Hanna Devich studied at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest and received masterclasses from György Sebök, Zoltan Kocsis, György Kurtág and her father Sandor. Sarah Oates studied in Cape Town, London and Amsterdam and New York and has followed courses and masterclasses with Pinchas Zukerman, Alexander Kerr and Yehudi Menuhin. Jasper Havelaar studied in Rotterdam with Ubaldo Ucari, Herre-Jan Stegenga and Ad van Dongen and received masterclasses from Colin Carr, Jerome Lowenthal and Marti Roussi. The works on this disc are extremely well and warmly performed. The enthusiasm with which they play can even be felt during a break, so to speak. A magnificent cd, an interesting programme and a very promising ensemble. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
