After having played together for several years in a variety of local bands (Macbeth, Skydancer, Candles to Holy Sisters, The Bleach), Estonia's Big Whisky members Rob and Andreas decided to leave for the UK in 2000. Doing their band name justice, the funds for their trip - raised through the sale of their equipment - ended up being invested in different varieties of alcohol for an almighty farewell party. Not long after their arrival in the UK they stumbled across local drummer Gavin who shared a similar taste in music. That night & several bottles later 'Big Whisky' was reformed. The band played their first gig after just 2 rehearsals. Sensing something unique had been born the band started gigging around the masses of London venues & quickly gained a reputation for drinking heavily, playing loud & abusing their equipment. By 2003, the music had gradually grown darker in nature and a name change was in order: Big Whisky is dead, long live Dead Next Door! After releasing their debut album 'Low Budget Rock`N`Roll' - Erik, the bands original guitarist left Dead Next Door at the back end of 2004 and was replaced with Ed, a long time brother in music, alcohol & guitar abuse. 2006 saw the release of their second CD, the six track 'Time To Fight' EP, a new musical direction and the maturing of the Dead Next Door sound.
