Davie Marshall is an amateur English born and based songwriter and keyboard player who began writing independently and primarily for recreation around 2007. Marshall started writing and playing very 'late' in contrast to the age at which most musicians will begin. His style is influenced by progressive rock music and is sometimes likened to being in the vein of English progressive rock band Genesis, typically the 1980s Duke-era. Sounds used in Marshall's pieces include Taurus Bass Pedal emulations, Mellotron string/choir samples as well as sounds of the Arp2600v and CP70 . Compositions tend to focus on the keyboard with basic guitar arrangements being used to provide texture. Marshall often collaborates with Andreas Diemann who frequently assists with regard to vocal performances.
