David Fonseca, born in 1973, in Leiria, Portugal, is a well known Pop/Rock singer. He first began his professional life as a photographer, working for various fashion catalogues but he is mainly recognized because of his successful musical career. Besides playing various instruments and being the author of most of his own lyrics, he is also responsible for the graphic designs on his album covers. He has been influenced by famous musicians such as Jeff Buckley, B’52s, Pixies, Roy Orbison, Aphex Twin, Ryan Adams, all of whom play a huge role in his own musical creativity and individuality. He first came to be known as the leading man on the very popular portuguese band Silence 4. 2003 was the year for David Fonseca first solo work, “Sing Me Something New”, where he played nearly all instruments, exploring his composer and interpreter sides more than ever. “Someone That Cannot Love” was the first single and it debuted on Portuguese radios in an innovative way: 150 radios played the song at midnight, on the 10th of March 2003.
