Artist
David Louis Fisher (born 19 July 1940 in New Haven,CT, United States; died in 2010) was an American musician, songwriter, singer and arranger in the folk and doo-wop genres, amongst others. In high school he was a member of a doo-wop group called The Academics. In 1958, upon entering Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, he formed the band The Clansmen with Bob Burnett, Steve Butts, Chan Daniels and Steve Trott, but due to the racial connotations to the band name in the Southern States they renamed theirselves into The Highwaymen. After some releases they disbanded in 1964 and went on to non-musical careers. David Fisher then embarked on a solo career in the music business. He worked together with Bert Knapp, Don Costa, Glen Larson and Wayne Hagstrom a.k.a. A.B. Clyde - and many others. He recorded for Columbia Records.
