Artist
David was born in the industrial North East of England. He attended Norton infant school, then Ragworth infant/junior school and finished his school years at Frederick Nattrass secondary modern. He was always in the school choir in the infants and juniors. In secondary school David excelled in music and sport. He started to learn the trumpet in the 1st year of senior school, mainly as a way of getting into the classroom during break period to keep warm. He also learned to play the cornet, euphonium, trombone and is very grateful to his teacher Mr. Fishburn. At this time he was also accepted into the Cleveland youth orchestra as a trumpet player. By the time David was in his 14th year, family problems and the death of his mother took a big toll on his happy nature. For a couple of years he was a lost soul until he heard of a teacher from India (this teacher was younger than David) whose name is Prem Pal Singh Rawat or has the honorary title of Maharaji. David is still associated with Mr.Rawat today and is still a keen student. At about 19 he joined a rock band Axis as the singer doing quite a few gigs. At this time he was working in the Dovecot Arts Centre part time as a batman to save money for his holiday in Spain. It was here that he met John Youdale, a member and guitarist of a local progressive rock band, later to be called Glacier.
