Marty Kizer was born in Chicago and raised in the rough and tumble “two-five” neighborhood on the west side of Gary, Indiana. He was a three time Indiana state boxing champion, a two time Chicago Golden Gloves finalist, and a two time all-navy champion. After being stopped in the first round on national tv by a future Olympic gold medalist, he decided that his future in boxing was limited. He turned to music and teamed up with a navy shipmate to create a rap duo. They shopped a demo unsuccessfully and like so many military friends, they were separated by transfer. Marty settled in Jacksonville, Florida where he became a featured vocalist in a 100+ member choir.
