Dave Deporis (1976/1977 - August 2017) was a singer songwriter, guitarist, living in the Temescal neighborhood of Oakland, CA. Deporis previously lived in Prospect Park (Brooklyn). His song "The Adult Song" was his big hit of that era, (2005). Deporis' laptop was stolen while he worked at a cafe in August 2017. He chased the thief and was dragged by the thief's car, leading to mortal injuries. His music, Deporis's, is a treasure, buried away from deserving ears, from unknowing ears, but it merits, if not desires, an audience. A voice which does not overpower, nor take the breath away, but commands attention with it's presence. The man, like his music, is vaguely mysterious and although I posed him a series of questions I have not solved the mystery, just made it more tantalizing.
