Artist
The composer Daniele Paris was born in Frosinone on December 19 1921. Until his death in 1989, he was a passionate teacher of music having first studied at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome. He is probably best known for his film scores however, as well as several compositions for documentaries during the 1950s and 60s. Among his best-known works are obviously his scores to 'The Night Porter', 'Al di là del bene e del male' (1977), and 'Milarepa' (1973). Each of these films depend partially upon Paris's haunting themes for their success, but Cavani had first worked with the composer on her documentaries 'Età de Stalin', and 'Storia del Terzo Reich' however. Elsewhere, Paris was a composer who was hugely important in terms of documentary filmmaking; including his contribution to Lindsay Anderson's Free Cinema documentary 'Every Day Except Christmas' in 1957.
