A singer-songwriter originally from Sydney, Australia. Coates' songwriting career started in a bathtub in Virginia USA in a bathtub where he spontaneously started singing "digest it with your Guru Belly" the chorus to his first song "GuruBelly". From there the creative channels were open and over the following 2 years of travelling the remaining tracks for his debut album "Connect" came to light. While still travelling in 2008 Coates bought a house in a small town Argentina. Shortly after he met producer and multi-instrumentalist Chello da Chance from New York. They converted a room in Coates' house into a studio they called "Bliss Studios" and it was there that "Connect" was recorded and produced. Some selections from "Connect" Include: "The Universe Gets High" explores how the Universe is always working in our favour to the point where it always gives us more than we ask for. "A Higher Place to Be" challenges us to give up our addictions in order to experience higher levels of natural bliss. "Sleeping Shamen" is a call to all to wake up and speak their truth to everyone.
