The Spin Arounds is eclectic rock music by Ryan Van Etten—currently a solo project. The sound is a unique mesh of punk rock, indie-pop, new wave, and post-punk, with solid drum beats and colorful lyrics. The Spin Arounds are based in New Jersey, outside of New York City. The Spin Arounds started as Crimson Road in 2003. The earlier music was darker and more experimental. In 2007 Ryan decided to rename the project to fit its more upbeat sound.
