Christina Ariagno is a pianist from Italy who is known for her recordings of many French composers that worked in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In 2007 she recorded a critically acclaimed 6 CD box-set of the complete works of Erik Satie for piano (Brilliant Records, 2007). Her repertory also includes Debussy, Ravel, Lili Boulanger, Milhaud, Poulenc, Ibert as well as lesser known composers Germaine Taileferre and Louis Aibert, all of whom she has performed and recorded. Since the 1990s, she has recorded for Brillant, Timpani, Arts Music, and Linn Records, among others. She has also played with various orchestras and ensembles including Picocola Sinfonica di Milano and the Orchestra Filarmonica of Minsk. Additionally, she writes about French music of the turn of the century, especially in relation to the Art Noveau Movement of the period. As both a scholar and pianist, she is strongly focused on French music during the turn of the century and early 20th century-- music that bridged the late romantic and early modern periods.
