Artist
Irén Marik was a Hungarian-born Classical pianist. She was forced to flee Hungary and abandon her career during the Second World War. Years later a record producer discovered an old disc of one of her pre-War recordings and was so struck by it that he decided to find out what had happened to her. He found her living in the Californian desert, still playing the piano. This meeting resulted in the acclaimed album "Bartók in the Desert: The Art of Irén Marik (1905-1986)".
