Christian began playing and experimenting with instruments from the age of four, having been born into a family of musicians: his mother a piano teacher and his father a professional flautist, who played flute and piccolo on iconic film scores including many of the James Bond movies, Superman, Star Wars, ET and Indiana Jones. It was digging through his parents’ extensive record collection as a young boy that first ignited a creative spark. Searching for anything non-classical, early sources of inspiration included Stevie Wonder’s Hotter Than July, Marvin Gaye’s What’s Goin’ On, Bill Withers’ Still Bill, and Jimi Hendrix’s Experience. These albums had an energy that immediately grabbed his attention, the sound of the records and the supreme musicianship of these legendary artists providing early musical inspiration. Christian’s first visit to a music studio was at the age of 13, when he accompanied his father to a recording session at Sony music studios in central London. From the moment he laid eyes on the mixing desk, he got a glimpse into life in recording studios, and was instantly hooked. Around the same time, while at school, he discovered a computer in the music department with Logic, a sound module and a keyboard. Using this at any available opportunity, his increasing knowledge of sound-engineering in digital form led him to fulfill his ambition of becoming an accomplished producer later in his career.
