After his brilliant debut EP “Grandson” in 2005 expectations where high for his new album. “Welcome to the Costume Ball” takes off where “Grandson” left you. 12 brilliant tracks that will stick to you like glue. Bart Oostindie started out as a street musician at the age of 18. While travelling throughout Europe with an acoustic guitar, his love for jazz music brings him back to Holland where Bart decides to study at the conservatory. In 2002 Bart joins the popular Dutch soul/funk band Mo'Jones with whom he plays on the North Sea Jazz festival in 2003. Together with piano player Mike Roelofs, who was also playing in the Mo'Jones band, Bart forms his own project with Mike Roelofs and Leon Bartels: Down South. With Down South Bart releases the album “One On One”. In 2004 Bart decides to focus on his song writing. His style is often compared with artists such as John Mayer, James Morrison, Jack Johnson and Gavin Degraw. Though, through his unique sound Bart maintains to have a sound of his own.
