Chen Dacan

about

Chen Dacan is a noted erhu player. He was trained at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music where he also taught for 20 years. In 1990 he moved to the UK where he is a founding member of the UK Chinese Ensemble. The erhu is part of the huqin (Chinese fiddle) family and is a two-stringed bowed musical instrument, used as a solo instrument as well as in small ensembles and large orchestras.
