about

Catastrophes was founded in Bergen, Norway during the Autumn of 2005. The band plays music that is a kind of pop-rock with inspirations from punk and a lead singer sounding a bit like Jim Morrisson. They are often compared alongside British bands like The Strokes and The Libertines. Lead singer Arne Håkon Tjelle is the song writer, while Snorre Sturla Lyngstad plays the bass. Lars Jakob Stava is the guitar player, and Øyvind Aasen Gloppestad sits behind the drum kit. Catastrophes were named as one of the most interesting bands in Bergen at the moment by the local press around during the New Year of 2006. Their first album is planned to be recorded in November 2006. In February 2008, Catastrophes played at http://www.Uken.no as a part of the act: Next Big Thing.
