Carlo Calvi (1610-70) was an Italian guitarist and redactor. "Intavolatura di chitarra, e chitarriglia" was a book of instruction concerning tuning and tablaure reading as well as a collection of musical pieces for guitar. The pieces were divided into two settings differentiated by whether the piece was to be plucked or strummed. Calvi remained within the musical structures and conventions of his time.
