COLD ATLANTIC is the musical project of Jared McCarthy. Jared was an original member of the Brooklyn-based band Panama Wedding, where he played guitar, keys, and sang backup. CA has been Jared’s low-key solo project since 2011. Under that name, he released several songs produced by Peter Kirk, who went on to form Panama Wedding. CA also played a number of solo & full band sets around NYC, often with Kirk. In 2013, PW released “All of the People” to some unexpected buzz, and Jared shifted his musical energy to that band for the next few years. After his involvement with PW, Jared continued writing & recording music in his free time, with no intention of releasing any of it. He moved back to his home state of Maine in 2020 at the height of the pandemic. It was around that time he heard Paradise Lost by Brothertiger (John Jagos) and became inspired to put out some music of his own. The album embodied the spirit and sound he had been trying to create unsuccessfully while working alone.
