There are at least two artists that go by Buddy Shaw. 01) There is little info about Buddy Shaw. But what do we got besides the 45s? An advert in an old hillbilly rag allowed folks with a spare buck to join a fan club based out of Snyder. And then there's a handful of mentions in Billboard. The first half of 1957 appears to have been a busy a time for Buddy Shaw. Billboard notes three releases, "Just Like A Fool / I Belong to You", "No More / The Breath of Life", "Don’t Sweep That Dirt on Me / Second Place". All custom pressings on Starday, coming out in rather rapid succession, each sharing songwriting credit with a Ruth Snider. As the singles were released so quickly it seems likely that all 6 sides were cut in one single session, most likely in the winter of 1956, the where's and who's probably long forgotten. He was locally popular enough to have a fan club which was based in Snyder, Texas. Ruth Snider eventually married Buddy. Buddy cut three singles and then gave up on his musical ambitions (if he indeed had any) and spent his time working for the Bell Telecommunications company. He passed away in December 2007. 02) Buddy Shaw is the solo project of Christopher Shaw, a multi-instrumentalist. He began playing music at age 10, writing and recording solo work since age 16.
