Boogie Mamma was established in Kiskunfélegyháza in 1999. Since then, they have become one of the most popular (and definetely the most funny) ska band in Hungary. They spice up the traditional ska music with some swing, reggae, punck, tango, rock and roll, calypso, hard rock etc. Their concerts can be considered as mixture of improvised „stand-up comedy” and performance. The texts of the songs can be read as absurd, satirical vignettes. After partnering in the recording of two ska cds (Hungarian ska, 2003, Skaland, 2005) they published their first cd „Apró keblek dícsérete”/ „Laudation of small bosoms” in 2005, and last year published a book „Negyvennégy Booogie Mamma hírlevél és kölem-kölemféle csodálatos dolgok”/ „Fourtyfour Boogie Mamma Newsletters and Some Other Wonderful Things” with a small cd with two luring songs from their forthcoming album. www.boogiemamma.hu User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
