about

Robert "Bob" Daisley (born February 13, 1950) is from Australia. He is a legendary bass guitar playing musician who has performed in genres from Rock and Roll to the Blues. He revolutionised bass playing, using the "sweep picking" technique to play three octave arpeggios in lightning-fast succession. Daisley was bassist and lyricist for Ozzy Osbourne on his most successful solo releases of the 1980's. After a lawsuit brought by Daisley for unpaid royalties, his bass tracks were removed from later remasters of Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman albums in 2002. The tracks were re-recorded by Rob Trujillo of Suicidal Tendencies and Metallica fame. In 1983 however, he went back to working with Osbourne, with whom he would continue to write and record throughout the 1980s and into the '90s, playing on and writing all the lyrics for Bark at the Moon, No Rest For The Wicked and The Ultimate Sin (for which he was also originally uncredited) in 1986. Daisley maintained his working relationship with Osbourne up until 1991's No More Tears album which featured his bass playing despite the presence of Mike Inez (who later joined Alice in Chains) in the album's promotional videos. During his on-again, off-again relationship with Osbourne, Daisley also recorded many albums with Gary Moore and toured extensively with him. In 1987 he was approached by producer Jeff Glixman to play on the Black Sabbath album The Eternal Idol as the band's actual bass player Dave Spitz "wasn't working out
