Blume popo is a Japanese alternative rock/shoegaze/dreamp pop band which was formed in 2015. Members: Vocals: 野村美こ (Miko Nomura) Guitar: 横田檀 (Dan Yokota) Guitar: 今西龍斗 (Ryuto Imanishi) Bass: 水谷航大 (Kodai Mizutani) Former members: Drums: Koyama (until March 31st 2025) Biography: In 2014 , Imanishi invited Mizutani, Koyama, Nomura, and Yokota, who were all attending the same junior high school at the time, to form the band in order to perform at the school's cultural festival. All of the members are childhood friends; Imanishi and Nomura have known each other since nursery school, Yokota and Koyama since kindergarten, and Mizutani and the other members since elementary school. The band's name comes from the fact that Imanishi's family owns a flower shop, and the band used to meet and practice in the warehouse there, so they added the somehow nice-sounding "popo" to "Blume," which means "flower" in German. "Popo" also means "butt" in German. They began full-scale activities in 2015. In the summer of 2017 , they won RO JACK 2017 and participated in ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2017. The group was scheduled to take a hiatus after their regular self-produced event, essais vol.3, which was scheduled to be held in Tokyo and Shiga in March 2020, but it was canceled due to the spread of COVID-19 . The group then went on hiatus. A year and a half later, in November 2021, essais vol.3 was held in Shiga. This marked the start of their activities, and they have been focusing on releasing
